He continued: “With all this supply, they needed to make it match demand.
“The way they tended to do that was to hook top musicians on drugs.
“Kurt Cobain, I argue, was psychologically profiled for this. He had his stomach problem.”
Cobain suffered from intense and prolonged physical pain due to a chronic stomach condition.
He self-medicated with heroin and allegedly said he was “determined to get a habit” to alleviate the agony.
Potash added: “At least a year before his death he said he found a cure to his stomach problem.
“He said life is great now that he’s found this cure, he was feeling so much better.”
Potash believes Cobain was targeted because he was an anarchist who wanted to promote far-left ideas in his work.
In Michael Azzerad’s book Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana – which was published just before Cobain’s death – it’s suggested Cobain wanted to include “revolutionary debris” and “all kinds of anarchistic” material into Nevermind’s sleeve notes, which came without a lyric sheet.
The book also alleges Cobain wanted to include “diagrams about how to make your own bomb” within Nevermind’s notes but decided against it due to the band’s relatively low popularity at the time of its release.
Daily Star Online has contacted the CIA with these claims for comment.
Other experts questioned Cobain’s official cause of death after seeing his toxicology report.
Canadian journalist and historian Max Wallace told 2015 documentary Soaked In Bleach: “For me, the most compelling piece of evidence that convinces me almost to a certainty that Kurt was murdered, was the level of heroin in his body.
“There has never been a documented case in the history of law enforcement where somebody could have the level of heroin in his body and still remain conscious and still lead to a suicide.”
