Homeowner spots wall painting is lopsided before making terrifying discovery

A homeowner made a terrifying discovery after noticing that one of their picture frames was not hanging straight.

When they peaked behind the framed artwork, they found a giant, scaly intruder coiled up behind the hanging frame forcing it to slant.

The serpent was so large that he had to hire a professional to come and remove it safely on Friday (August 18).

According to 7News, a local childcare centre was also forced to make a similar call to have a scaly intruder removed.

A video of the 1.5m snake, which has been identified as a carpet python, being safely removed from behind the frame has been shared online.

The homeowner, on the sunshine coast, asked for a photo as Dan from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers held the snake in her living room.

She told the publication that she noticed something strange earlier that day and called for help instead of tackling the beast herself.

Speaking to the publication, Kurt from the snake-catching company said: “A few minutes later, the snake’s head stuck out the side of it.

“They obviously got a bit of a fright and ran out of the room, and called us.”

Dan can be heard in the footage suggesting he give the “nice, big, beautiful carpet python” a “little tickle” to help it emerge from its hiding place before the snake does exactly that.

“Look, his noggin is poking out, that was what was pulling your painting down,” he says.

The professionals were in the area at the time and managed to get to the property 20 minutes after the call.

Later that day, Kurt also filmed the moment Dan released the python back into the wild.

“You can go now,” Dan tells the reptile. “It’s got a beautiful pattern on it.”

The pair were then called to the nearby childcare centre after a snake had been spotted right before school began – luckily there were no children around.

They explained: “It was before school started, so (staff) were just doing the playground checks, getting the toys ready and that sort of thing.

“One of the staff members saw it go behind the shed.

“We had to move the shed out of the way, which was a bit of a challenge, a lot more tricky than the carpet python on the frame.

“We eventually got him without squashing him.”
