Fast-moving UFO with white light spotted by multiple people in British skies

A man spotted what he describes as "one of the weirdest things" he has filmed flying across the sky as he spotted a mystery UFO soaring in the air.

He is not the only one who has reported seeing the strange phenomenon amid multiple unexplained reports.

Freelance video editor Anthony Hockey, 31, filmed a fast-moving object near his home in Mumby, near Alford, Lincolnshire, at about 8.45pm on Thursday (April 21), Lincolnshire Live reports.

He described the 'UFO' as a white light with a cloud or smoke in front it, which seemed to be travelling towards the coastline in a southerly direction.

Mr Hockey said: "Not a cloud in the sky but there was a strange white light moving with what seemed to be a cloud or some kind of smoke in front of it.

"It was moving very quickly, possibly even too quickly to be a plane. I was just coming back from walking the dog with my girlfriend and mum when we saw this. It was visible for three or four minutes."

He added that because there isn't much light pollution around the area he lives, cosmic occurrences like shooting stars and space debris are quite common in the sky.

"We get a lot of RAF aircraft as we are on the flight path to the training areas out at sea but there was no sound to what we saw. Normally, we would hear if it was a jet," he continued, "but I have never seen anything like this."

Another person, Richard Ginge Bloy also reported seeing the UFO on Thursday evening. He said: "I saw it, I must admit it did look weird I thought it was the light on the front of a plane shining through the lower clouds like a giant torch in the sky."

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying 53 of Elon Musk's Starlink internet satellites, launched from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Thursday, around 6pm BST.

One person, Nick Dike, who spotted the strange flying object over Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, said: "I've been told it was SpaceX as it launched around the same time. I saw this at 8.45pm.

"It came out the cloud and became a light but it looked like what ever it was kept going in and out of the atmosphere as there was smoke rings so weird."

One woman Stacey Fitzgerald said her mum saw the object near Fen Lane in North Hykeham, adding that she assumed it was "something from the RAF base at Waddington or a satellite".

Some theories suggest that the object was simply a meteor, especially since the Lyrid Meteor Shower, which began on April 14 will continue to be visible till April 30.

Others believe it could have just been a police drone or an aircraft with its lights on. Benjamin Moorcroft stressed: "There was a high level light overcast, and this was an aircraft. They were working the ranges last week until very late. No aliens."

However, another man Chris Devine seemed certain it wasn't an aircraft. He explained: "Not at that height I'm afraid. We asked Madrid air traffic control and there was no traffic above us. All the pilots were watching it and asking what it was. It was well over 60,000ft.

"It moved very fast. The strange part was the cloud in front of it. First thought was a comet but then we saw the light at the back of it."
