Astronaut posts picture from space and Flat Earthers all make same argument

A NASA astronaut who shared stunning pictures from space has seen the post hijacked by people accusing her of covering up the earth's 'true' form.

Jessica Meir has documented her journey on the International Space Station on social media , posting incredible photos of the crew and their views from high above our planet.

On Friday, Jessica shared three photos of earth and its cloud formations, with the caption: "The first orientation may make more sense to you, but to me this is the ever-changing skyline on @Space_Station . Perspective. The constant traffic of visiting vehicles makes for diverse vistas."

After attracting thousands of likes from her 156,000 followers, some thanked her for her work to share 'beautiful' images of the rock we call home.

But the snaps also captured the curvature of earth – and others were having absolutely none of it.

Many Flat Earthers believe the world is disk-shaped as opposed to the globe we were all shown in school, with Antarctica acting as a giant ice wall around the edge.

The theory allows no room for curves, meaning there simply had to be another explanation for Jessica's photos.

And they looked a little something like this:

"Nice try with the fish eye, but it's flat."

"Yes. That's fish eye lens. Make earth looks like [it's] round. Actually, the earth is flat!"

Others weren't having the argument as one replied: "Can someone please sponsor a mission to fly all these flat-earthers to space so they can all shut up once and for all?

"Actually, that would be a huge waste because they still wouldn’t be convinced."

Another simply said: "People who believe the earth is flat are legit dumb."
