Reese Witherspoon has admitted she loves being mistaken for her 22-year-old daughter as it makes her "feel young".

The 45-year-old actress gushed over her "down to earth" daughter Ava in a new interview with CBS broadcaster, Gayle King for InStyle.

The stunning Hollywood star explained that it's probably not easy for her 22-year-old as she looks exactly like her, but deals with it rather well.

The proud mum said: "Well, I love being mistaken for her because it makes me feel so young.

"I am so proud of her. She really rolls with it. I'm sure it's not easy looking exactly like your mother.

Interviewer Gayle jumped in to correct her: "Reese, stop it! When Mama looks like you, it is very easy."

Reese went on to explain that her and Ava chat to Reese's Big Little Lies co-star Zoe Kravits a lot because she looks just like her mother Lisa Bonet.

She added: "Whenever Ava is frustrated, I go, ‘Call Zoë, text Zoë, she knows what to talk about.’ I mean, that's another mother-daughter combo that's like identical twins."
