Eamonn Holmes has joked that Prince Charles doesn't trust him with wife Camilla due to him being an "outrageous flirt."
The presenter admitted he is worried that he is making the Prince of Wales jealous.
The 62-year-old TV star has revealed to Camilla Parker-Bowles every time he gets the chance to meet her that she is his favourite royal.
He told Sunday Life: “I have had the opportunity to meet Camilla privately at functions on a number of occasions.
“She is approachable and incredibly friendly. Not only that, she’s a darn good laugh.
“As I keep telling her, she is my favourite royal, though I’m not sure what her husband makes of that.”
Eamonn who hosts a GB News breakfast show alongside co-host Isabel Webster hailed the 72-year-old royal for fitting into the monarchy in a way that Princess Diana and Prince Harry's wife Meghan could not do.
He said: “Before Catherine becomes Queen Consort, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, will have the job.
“Recently endowed with the title ‘Royal Lady of the most Nobel Order of the Garter’, she has taken to royal life in a way Diana or Meghan couldn’t.”
Charles has poked fun at the Irishman for his flirty exchanges with his wife.
In 2014, Eamonn broke royal protocol by embracing Camilla and admitted he was an "outrageous flirt."
The pair met at a TV station’s headquarters in west London in 2014.
Camilla said: “We always meet in peculiar places.”
Eamonn replied: “That’s enough of that," prompting Charles, who was standing behind the pair, to ask the TV star: “Where have you been with my wife?”
However, that is not the only time he has broken the rules, in 2018, the former This Morning presenter kissed Camilla when she visited the ITV set with Charles.
The Northern Irishman met his wife, Loose Women presenter Ruth Langford, 61, in 1997 and later got married in 2010.
The couple have one son together, Jack Alexander who was born in 2002.
Eamonn also has three other children from a previous marriage to Gabrielle Holmes – a daughter Rebecca and two sons Declan and Niall.
In 2016, he opened up about his marriage to Ruth, he said: “I’m an outrageous flirt, but we’re safe as houses. We could not be happier, or more secure, in our marriage.”
