As viewers desperately wait to see if Tim will survive Stephen's brutal attack, Daily Star has taken a deep dive inside their relationship after falling in love on the Weatherfield cobbles. Let's take a look…

How did Joe Duttine and Sally Carman first meet?

Sally, who is best known for playing the character of Abi Webster, joined the Corrie cast in 2017 and a year later started dating her co-star Joe, after meeting on-set. According to Sally, the pair began sharing puddings with one another as their romance slowly blossomed.

It didn't take long before the public started suspecting they were a couple after they were spotted holding hands as a Coronation Street summer party. A year after starting their relationship, Sally and Joe moved in together. They now live in a small village close to Stockport.

When did Joe Duttine and Sally Carman get married?

In 2020, at the start of the first lockdown, the Corrie couple got engaged. Speaking about the proposal on Kate Thornton's podcast White Wine Question Time, Sally said: "It was while we were in lockdown and we were staying in the Dales with his sister, who has a lot of space, with, his kids" she said.

"And he had just read a Benjamin Meyers book called The Gallows Pole, which Shane Meadows is making into a film right now. It's all about these coin forgers and he was banging on about this bloody book for weeks and weeks and weeks.

"And I'm like: 'I'm glad you're enjoying that book, I won't need to read it because you've literally told me everything that happens in it!' We were walking around this big field on this walk and he went: 'Kids, have a look in between the dry stone walling because you know, they used to put coins and precious things to hide them in the walls.

"So I'm having a look and there's this box. And I opened it. I'm like: 'No way.' And then there was another box inside. And I turned around and he was on one knee." They announced their exciting news on Instagram toasting two glasses of champagne.

The post received a flood of replies from co-workers on the soap and other celebrities including Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies who expressed his congratulations. When they were planning the wedding, Sally told the Mirror: "I’m obsessed with Christmas, so when Joe said: ‘What’s your favourite time, when would you most like to do it?’ it had to be Christmas."

But due to extended pandemic induced restrictions the wedding was placed on hold. However, on Friday July 15, 2022 the happy couple celebrated their big day and the groom finally kissed the bride.

In marrying Joe, Sally also became a step mother to Joe's three children aged 25, 14 and 12.
