According to The Sun, a source said that things weren’t “serious”.

“They had great fun while it lasted but Josh has a bit of a reputation as a Lothario and Jen didn’t want to be caught up in that.”

Apparently the two are still on good terms and will remain friends.

The pair were first spotted in August after kissing on a night out in Manchester.

An insider said at the time: "It's early days but Jen is really happy.

"She's keen to take things slow but at the same time feels like her and Josh have something special.”

However, the same source said that they had decided not to put a label on their relationship at that point.

Metcalfe’s now ex-hunk first made a splash in 2020 when he was spotted with Annie Kilner, who was on a break from Manchester City footballer Kyle Walker.

According to The Sun Kilner confessed to a romance with Cox and broke down in tears in front of Walker, 32, telling him that that they did not get involved until after she and Walker broke up in the February of that year.

Walker and Kilner got back together four months after her split from Cox.

Metcalfe was previously in a relationship with footballer Chris Eagles.

She also shares a son with Greg Lake.

They co-parent and have a good relationship.

Metcalfe recently needed medical attention on the set of Hollyoaks after she injured herself during the filming of scenes featuring her character Mercedes McQueen and sinister Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).

She said: “We were tied up properly and in the moment, you’re trying to escape. I really got stuck in that so much.

“I ended up having to see a physio for a few sessions after because I pulled so hard on my neck.”

She was left exhausted by filming.
