Former Fyre Festival Social Promoter Still ‘Waiting on Chrissy Teigen’ to Make Cheese Sandwiches

Chrissy Teigen is just one of the many viewers to be in awe of all things Fyre Festival after both Hulu and Netflix released documentaries about the disastrous 2017 event last week.

In one of her many tweets about the docs, the Cravings cookbook author, 33, called out former Jerry Media employee Oren Aks, who handled design for the festival and spoke with Hulu’s Fyre Fraud about his experience. Netflix’s Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened was partially produced by Jerry Media, and Aks said he was not asked to participate.

“I love their social media guy. poor dude. where are you,” Teigen wrote on Jan. 14.

Aks noticed her tweet and responded from the Fyre Festival handle.

“Hi. It is me. Oren Aks. I’m actually the designer behind the festival. I’m happy to be here. Would love to make some cheese sandwiches with you @chrissyteigen sometime,” he tweeted, referring to one of the few meal options at the April 2017 event.

While speaking with PEOPLE Now, Aks said the mom of two “left him hanging,” as he hasn’t heard back from Teigen yet.

“I’m still waiting on Chrissy,” Aks told hosts Jeremy Parson and Andrea Loraine Boehlke. “I’m hoping we can make some cheese sandwiches soon. That’s a goal right now.”

Acks also admitted, “I actually ate that cheese sandwich at one point during the day.”

The graphic designer, who has since moved abroad, said he “never really expected” the level of celebrity fascination with Fyre Festival. Now that the public has embraced the demise of Fyre founder Billy McFarland and Ja Rule’s vision, there are some people out there who want to make their own go at putting on a luxury music experience.

“I think there’s plenty of room in the market for a festival of this magnitude if done right,” Aks said. “And trust me, since this happened, I’ve gotten at least two dozen emails from people who think they will pull it off and want my help, which won’t happen.”

Hulu’s Fyre Fraud and Neftlix’s Fyre are streaming now.
