A teenage TikTok star has gone viral after visiting his grandmother during isolation, and inviting her to do a hilarious dance from doorstep.

British Lewis Leigh, 18, has racked up over seven million views and a million likes with the video of Phyllis, 76, performing a dance to Laxed Siren Beat Loop by Jawsh 685.

Part-time Nando’s worker Lewis, who was dropping groceries off to his grandmother’s house, decided to encourage her to get some exercise in – from the recommended 2 metre social distance. 

Sharing the video with his 300,000 TikTok followers, he wrote: ‘So today I went to get my nan’s essential groceries and when I delivered them we made a tiktok lol #fyp #foryou #nan #uk #grandma.

The adorable video sees Lewis teaching his grandma the steps – which start by him crossing his arms over his chest, then placing his arm in front of him and circling his hips.

Hilariously, his nifty grandmother picks up the moves quickly, before the duo do the steps in unison. 

Speaking on Good Morning America after going viral, he said: ‘Everyone just saying it’s a wholesome video.

‘It’s upsetting because my grandmother lives on her own so the highlight of her week is when my family and I visit.’

He added of her dance moves: ‘I did not expect her to pick it up so quick

‘I thought the exercise would be good for her.’

Commenting on the video, one person wrote: ‘This is the best video on the internet PERIOD.’

Another added: ‘I love you how you spend your day you with Grandma I love and miss my Grandma so much she passed away already. You are such sweet kid’.

Elsewhere one wrote:  ‘I love the lip-sync to help her get it in time!’.
