Songwriting whiz Emily Warren celebrates solo debut album with playlist

Emily Warren, the sought-after songwriter behind Dua Lipa’s “New Rules,” Charli XCX’s “Boys” and a string of Chainsmokers hits including “Don’t Let Me Down,” strikes out on her own this week with the release of her debut album “Quiet Your Mind.”

To celebrate, Warren shares a playlist with USA TODAY, featuring some compositions of hers alongside tracks from Disclosure, Teyana Taylor and Drake.

Girl Blue, “Fire Under Water”

I can’t stop listening to this one. The lyrics and melody, especially in the chorus, just kill me. I love it!

LANY, “If You See Her”

I had the pleasure of writing this with LANY’s Paul Klein and David Pramik, and it just came out. I’m so happy with how it turned out!

Marshmello feat. Bastille, “Happier”

Ugh, I love this song. The lyrics are so sad, but then the track is so uplifting it brings you back up!
