Prince Philip Walks Away When He's Bored With a Conversation, Source Claims

Prince Philip has been known to rule his family with an iron fist. He does not suffer fools easily, and he is not at all shy about speaking his mind. Though he’s been retired from his royal duties since 2017, the British royal family often goes to him for advice.

He reportedly encouraged Prince Andrew to resign from royal life due to his ties with Jefferey Epstein. Though he and Prince Harry have always been close, the Duke of Edinburgh is reportedly struggling with Megxit.

Prince Philip has never been hesitant about stating his opinion. In fact, he has been known to walk away in the middle of dull conversations.

Queen Elizabeth II’s parents thought Prince Philip was very brash

When Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip fell in love as teens, the queen’s parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, were not exactly enamored with the Greek prince. After all, he had no land, little money, and no titles.

It also didn’t help that they believed the duke was brash and gruff. “The queen referred to him privately as “the Hun,’ Philip Eade wrote in his book, Prince Philip: The Turbulent Early Life of the Man Who Married Queen Elizabeth II via The Daily Beast. “Lords Salisbury, Eldon and Stanley think him no gentleman, and in a sense they are right,” the queen’s secretary wrote in his diary.”

However, the prince’s pragmatic approach to life as well as his “forthrightness and independence” are what effectively won the queen over in the end.

Prince Philip has been known for putting his foot in his mouth

While the queen was enamored with her husband’s forthright attitude, Prince Philip has been known for putting his foot in his mouth.

When he was accused of being unfaithful to the queen during the early years of their marriage, he did not hold back with his retort. “Privately, he will say, ‘How could I?’” Mike Parker, the duke’s first Private Secretary told The Telegraph in 2004. “‘I’ve had a detective in my company, night and day, since 1947.’”

He’s also spoken his mind in front of important global figures and diplomats. When he met activist Malala Yousafzai in 2013 to discuss why education was so important, he reportedly said via Town & Country, “People want children to go to school to get them out of the house.”

Prince Philip walks away from conversations when he gets bored

In addition to having little to no filter, Prince Philip will also let you know if he’s bored or not. He’s been known to abruptly walk away from conversations that don’t interest him

“If someone interests him, he’s extremely chatty and nice to them and if someone bores him he walks away,” royal Ingrid Seward revealed on Pod Save the Queen via Express. “He doesn’t suffer fools and he’s never made any pretense. I think probably in the very early years of his marriage he was a little easier, but he’s never made a pretense of what he finds stultifyingly boring.”
