It wasn’t all work on the set of “Working Girl.”
In The Hollywood Reporter’s oral history of Melanie Griffith’s 1988 rom-com, which turns 30 this year, she revealed she had a crush on one of her co-workers.
The object of her affection? Alec Baldwin, who played the cheating Staten Island boyfriend to her ambitious Wall Street secretary-turned-executive.
“Alec Baldwin is handsome and charming, and I just had such a crush on him,” she recalled. “But he wouldn’t go there with me. I was like, “Oh come on, have a romance with me!” But no, Alec said, ‘I can’t do this with people I work with.’ He’s a sweetheart.”
