Scarlett Moffatt has welcomed her first child, a baby boy into the world with her partner, Scott Dobinson. The Gogglebox star shared the exciting news this week and revealed his sweet meaningful name.
The I'm A Celeb winner, 32, announced her pregnancy back in February and admitted she was feeling "sad" to be dressing up her baby bump for the last time last week. On Thursday 30 June Scarlett took to Instagram to share with her 2.4M followers that her "darling boy" had arrived into the world.
In the heartfelt Instagram post revealing his name, she wrote: "Jude Xavier Dobinson.
"My darling boy I can’t stop crying looking at you as I can’t quite believe you’re mine. You wanted to meet us early at just 35 weeks. Me & your daddy love you so much that I can’t even put this feeling into words. Our heart and soul feels complete & ready to burst. I will forever and always be grateful to be your mammy.
"I Can’t thank @scottdobby enough & to the midwife’s Helen & Charlotte & all of the NHS team at Durham Hospital. You will all forever hold a special place in my heart for looking after us all with such compassion. Let the baby bubble commence."
The name Jude of Latin origin has become a popular choice and means "praised", according to NameBerry. It is a moniker of a number of celebrities alike who have turned the name "on its head", including Made In Chelsea star Tiffany Watson who also named her son Jude who she welcomed into the world earlier this month.
Other celebrities include none other than actor, Jude Law along with The Beatle's song Hey Jude, which we're sure will be played in the household for the tiny tot. Nameberry said that these celebrity links to the name have "erased old connections to the traitorous Judas Iscariot and Thomas Hardy's tragic Jude the Obscure".
Adding that instead have "inspired a legion of new babies named Jude", now including Scarlett and Scott. American actor, Kelsey Grammer also has a son named Jude Gordon with the moniker also being used as a girl's name, such as Martha Stewart's granddaughter.
Their son's middle name, Xavier is of Arabic, Basque origin and means "new house", according to NameBerry. Many people pronounce the initial X, as in ex-ZAY-vee-er, but others pronounce the name as ZAY-vee-er which is closer to the French pronunciation.
It is thought the name, Xavier is as popular now as it's ever been and is one of the only X names that most people know. It is often used as a middle name.
It appears Scarlett could have previously given a hint to her son's first name during his gender reveal. The TV star shared a sweet Instagram video back in March where she unveiled a gorgeous bunch of flowers on her kitchen counter.
Alongside the bouquet, Scarlett placed a one-tier cake as she grinned at the camera. At first, the video was all filmed in black and white, but in a clever gender reveal, Scarlett's clip then slowly turned to colour.
Revealing an array of beautiful blue blooms and a stunning navy blue baked masterpiece, Scarlett wrote: "In the great words of the Beatles… "Here comes the SON". Her son now holds the same name as a Beatles song, Jude.
