Gloria Allred is no longer representing the woman who claimed Armie Hammer “violently raped” her.
While one source tells us “Effie,” the woman behind Instagram account “House of Effie,” fired Allred after she became upset over her participation in the “House of Hammer” docuseries, Allred denies she was fired.
“I no longer represent her,” Allred told Page Six via email. “It is completely false that I was fired.”
It’s unclear if Effie has new representation.
Effie didn’t immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Effie blasted Discovery+’s 3-part project shortly after its release, claiming it “exploited” her trauma.
“The way they’ve been exploiting my trauma is disgusting,” Effie told the Los Angeles Times. “When I keep screaming ‘no,’ and they keep going, saying they don’t need my permission, they remind me of Armie.”
She also told the LA Times that she had no idea Allred would appear in it; however the famed women’s rights attorney said in a statement to the publication that “statements that I have made on behalf of clients have been made because the statements were consistent with our representation, were authorized either explicitly or implicitly, and were made because I believed that the statements were in the client’s best interests.”
Effie appeared in a press conference on March 18, 2021, alongside Allred and claimed that she and the “Call Me by Your Name” star were in a 4-year relationship in which he “became increasingly more violent.”
