Anyone who loves the TLC show Counting On knows there’s never a dull moment in the Duggar family. Just when it seems things have slowed down among the Duggars, another couple either gets engaged, gets pregnant, or welcomes a baby. This time, it’s Joe and Kendra Duggar with some big news: The couple just announced they’re expecting their second child. But when is Baby Duggar due?
Joe and Kendra Duggar welcomed their first child last year
This Duggar couple first met at church, and things moved pretty quickly once they began courting. The two started a relationship in March 2017, and by May 2017, Joe was ready to propose. He asked Kendra to marry him at his sister Joy Anna’s wedding, and the couple planned their own wedding for September 2017. It wasn’t long after they wed that they announced they were expecting their first child. The two welcomed a son, Garret, 39 weeks after they tied the knot. Fans were suspicious about the couple’s relationship timeline, but realistically, it’s easy for a new mother to give birth a little before her due date.
The couple hinted on the show they may be trying for another baby
The two have enjoyed raising Garret together, but fans could tell that it wouldn’t be too long before they announced that another baby was on the way. In an episode during this season of Counting On, producers asked the couples what they were looking forward to in 2019. Joe and Kendra hinted that they could be trying for another baby. Although Garret hasn’t even turned one yet, the couple seemed to be in a good place and ready to welcome a second child.
Joe and Kendra just announced another pregnancy — and the little one should be arriving this fall
On April 11, Joe and Kendra took to Instagram to announce that Garret’s younger sibling is officially on the way. The couple also posted a video to their blog saying that Kendra was expecting, and she said she felt a bit of shock when she learned there was a new baby on the way. It’s possible the couple hadn’t been “trying” per se, but since the Duggars don’t believe in birth control, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Kendra, who is only 20, would get pregnant with ease. Assuming that Joe and Kendra waited 12 weeks before announcing the pregnancy (which is the usual protocol), the newest member of the Duggar family should be arriving this fall — likely sometime in October.

The Duggars tend to have children close together
The Duggars have always done things a bit differently than most American families. They have extremely strong ties to their religion, and they come from one of the largest families in the country. The Duggar couples tend to have kids close together; all of the families with more than one child had kids no more than two years apart. Joe and Kendra sped things up even more by getting pregnant before their first child’s first birthday, but Jessa Seewald commented on the couple’s post saying she loves how close her own kids are and knows that Joe and Kendra’s kids will be close, too.
