Robert F. Kennedy III is a dad!
The namesake grandson of Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated over 50 years ago, has welcomed his first child with wife Amaryllis Fox, the latter shared on Instagram Friday.
“Baby Bobby arrived safe and snug on January 7th at 6:27 pm,” Fox captioned a photo gallery of the new parents at the hospital with their baby girl and Fox’s 9-year-old daughter Zoë Victoria.
“She’s named for her father, grandfather and great grandfather, carrying their legacy into a future where women stand shoulder to shoulder with their fathers, brothers, and sons to do the work of love in the world,” Fox continued of her newborn. “May she hold in her heart their fathomless commitment to human dignity, peace among nations, and protection of our natural world.”
Proud grandfather Robert F. Kennedy Jr. got in on the baby joy too, sharing a snap of wife Cheryl Hines with the new dad and baby Bobby, as well as another of their newly expanded brood.

Fox — a former CIA officer who, according to her Twitter bio, is now a “writer,” “peace activist” and “advocate of compassionate engagement and strategic nonviolence at home and overseas” — and Kennedy III wed in July, at the famous Kennedy Compound on Cape Cod in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.
The groom, 34, wore a blue and green floral tuxedo jacket with tails and white pants while the bride chose an off-the-shoulder white gown with floral embroidery and a starfish crown on her head.
“You may kiss the bride! Hurray Bobby and Amarillis [sic]!” Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Ethel and Robert F. Kennedy, shared on Instagram.

Kennedy III had been quietly dating Fox for about a year before their wedding, according to the New York Post, which first reported the news of the couple’s nuptials ahead of the event.
Kennedy Jr. told Town & Country in June that son’s wedding celebration would be similar to his own 2014 wedding to Hines. (Kennedy III’s mom is his father’s first wife Emily Black.)
“[It] is going to be kind of a clambake, which is the same thing Cheryl and I did and it worked,” he said.
