Mark Wahlberg & Wife Rhea Are Every Sappy Parent Whose Kid is Starting High School

Back to school time is emotional for every parent. And while babies starting pre-k get a lot of attention, it’s no less emotional for parents of teens starting their first day of high school! Mark Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham are going through that right now with their 14-year-old son Brendan, and they shared an emotional Instagram post about it.

Brendan wears his school uniform, which consists of grey shorts and a blue sweater vest over a white button-down shirt with sneakers. He stands with his hand in his pocket and a serious expression on his face (why do high-schoolers never want to smile with their parents?). The Ted star stands next to his son in a green t-shirt and black shorts. Brendan is already so much taller than his dad!

People were impressed with this sweet post!

“Your boy’s gettin big!” Mario Lopez said. Wahlberg’s nephew Jeff Wahlberg commented, “wtf he’s giant !!??”

Someone else wrote, “Oh my gosh he’s taller than dad! That went by fast. Hope the kids have a great school year.”

“B looking sharp and ready for his first dayπŸ€™πŸ½,” another said.

One person warned, “The high school years go even faster.” Don’t tell us that!

The Flecha Azul Tequila founder and Durham share four kids together, sons Brendan and Michael, 17, and daughters Grace, 13, and Ella, 19.

The family recently moved to Las Vegas in order for his kids to “pursue” their dreams.

“I spent lots of time in L.A. pursuing my interests and my career and now it’s time for them to pursue theirs. Everybody is thriving there, it’s been great,” he said, per E! News.

Previously, he told The Talk, “To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams — whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer — this made a lot more sense for us. We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”

The family seems to be doing well in Vegas. Durham has posted many updates of their summer of fun on Instagram.

“Summer stuff πŸŽ€πŸ‘πŸŽ‘πŸš€πŸš²πŸ₯‡πŸ‡πŸΌπŸ›ΌπŸπŸ“πŸŒ»πŸ΄πŸ‘’πŸ§šπŸ»‍β™‚οΈπŸ€ ,” she captioned a photo dump on July 31. The photos include her kids hanging out in the swimming pool, with Nevada mountains in the background, photos of Grace on a horse, and pictures paddleboarding, boat riding, and celebrating their dog Lola’s birthday.

    It looks like a dream!
