Mario Lopez’s Kids Are ‘Fighting Over Names’ Before Baby No. 3’s Arrival

A family affair! Mario Lopez and his wife, Courtney Lopez (née Mazza), are expecting their third child in July, and Gia, 8, and Dominic a.k.a Nico, 5, have some strong opinions about their younger sibling’s moniker.

“They’re fighting over names,” the Extra host, 45, told Us Weekly exclusively at the Superstars For Hope Partner Reception to kick off WrestleMania at ASPIRE One World Observatory on Friday, April 5. “They’re both fired up!”

He added: “We have some contenders. [The name is] definitely going to be Italian, definitely going to be Catholic. That we know.”

The Saved by the Bell alum and the Broadway dancer, 36, announced in January that they have a baby on the way.

“Lopez family update,” the Extra Lean Family author captioned the Instagram video at the time. Mario moved from one family member to the next in the footage, highlighting Gia’s dance activities and Nico’s wrestling.

“I’m crazy with work as usual,” he said. “Mrs. Lopez, what about you?” After his wife sang that she was having a baby, the California native admitted, “We are adding to the team. We are having a party of five. … So blessed.”

So how has Courtney’s pregnancy been going so far? “She’s been a trooper,” Mario told Us on Friday. “She’s been very fortunate that she hasn’t struggled, hasn’t gotten sick. She looks great pregnant. … She wears it well.”

The journalist opened up about his plans to spoil his wife for Mother’s Day. “I already got the gift!” he told Us. “It’s gonna be a good one. I’ve gotta come up with an extra gift for the push gift. I’ve gotta step it up this year.”

The former X Factor host and the actress tied the knot in 2012, two years after welcoming their daughter. Gia arrived in 2010 and became a big sister when Nico was born in 2013.
