Chance the Rapper was all in his girl dad feels yesterday when he celebrated his daughter’s birthday, and that meant we got to see some pretty adorable content. The “Cocoa Butter Kisses” singer posted a bunch of videos and pictures in honor of his now-4-year-old daughter Marli, and we’re her biggest fans. Well, besides her parents, of course.
The carousel opens and closes with videos of Marli singing and dancing, showing she has certainly gotten some of her dad’s musical skills. There’s also a picture of her big sister Kensli, 7 — whom Chance also shares with wife Kirsten Corley — holding her in the hospital.
“Happy fourth birthday Marli Jackson hee hee 🤩🕺🏽,” Chance captioned the carousel.
But that was just the start. We’re also blessed with five adorable photos and videos of Chance and Marli together and it’s cuteness overload. First, there’s the duo in bed. Chance is taking a nap while Marli looks at the camera confused. Like, “What is my dad doing?! I should be the one napping.” Then there’s Marli sitting in her dad’s lap. She’s rocking this “Future Hero” beanie and he has on his signature “3” baseball hat. This is followed by a video of them on a jet ski and their smiles seriously make our hearts melt.
And no, we’re not done with the precious father-daughter moments! There’s then a black and white portrait of the two of them at what looks to be a photo shoot, followed by a selfie of them that really shows off their matching eyes and just how much they look alike.
“She looks exactly like you 😭,” one commenter said, and others quickly joined in. “She stole your face. 🥹💘✨” “Them genes 🧬 strong my guy.” “That beautiful baby looks just like you Chance 😍😍😍”
The “Favorite Song” rapper also shared the carousel twice on his Instagram story, calling his daughter the “Queen of Lollipops” and proving he’s a seriously proud papa who’s head over heels for his little girl.
Just a couple weeks after Marli was born in 2019, Chance decided to postpone his next tour to stay at home with the newborn, his daughter Kensli (born in 2015), and his wife.
“This year has been one of the greatest of my life; Marriage, new baby, first album etc.,” he told fans. “But with it being so eventful it has also been very strenuous having to divide my time and energy between family and work. When Kensli was born, I went on tour 2 weeks later and missed some of the most important milestones in her life, but more importantly, I was absent when her mother needed me the most. At this point, as a husband and father of two, I realize that I can’t make that mistake again. I need to be as helpful and available as possible to my wife in these early months of raising Kensli and Marli.”
It’s clear that his commitment to and love for his family of four has only grown from there.
These celebrity fathers are all proud to be “girl dads.”
