Brad Paisley Shares His Sweet – and Funny – Congrats to Carrie Underwood After Birth of Son

Brad Paisley is throwing his congrats to Carrie Underwood back to the 2018 CMA Awards.

Referencing the “Before He Cheats” singer’s announcement that the second child she was pregnant with at the time would be a boy, Paisley re-shared Underwood’s photo of husband Mike Fisher that she posted Wednesday to announce the birth of their son Jacob Bryan.

“Like I said, it’s a Willie!  Er … a Jacob!” joked Paisley, congratulating the couple and their 3½-year-old Isaiah Michael in the remainder of the caption on his Wednesday post.

Fans of Underwood, 35, will recall her hosting gig with Paisley at November’s CMA Awards — their 11th consecutive year running the show together! — when Paisley tried to coax her into spilling the beans.

“Seriously Carrie, give me a little baby hint? Johnny or June? Keith or Nicole. Garth or Trisha. Tim or Faith. George or Tammy. Waylon or Willie?” he prodded.

“Oh my gosh — Willie, it’s a Willie, okay?!” she conceded.

The country crooners have remained close friends over the years, even though they sometimes go long stretches of time without seeing one another.

“When I saw Brad, after not seeing him for a little bit, and I had kinda popped, I guess … ” a then-pregnant Underwood said in a sit-down with PEOPLE Now ahead of the CMAs.

” ‘Popped’ is the word,” agreed Paisley, 46.

“I walked in the door and he said, ‘Holy cow!‘ ” she continued, joking, “Poor choice of words.”

Following baby Jacob’s arrival on Monday, both his parents took to Instagram to share the happy news with photos of their newborn and his immediate family members.

Fisher referenced some of the couple’s hurdles — which include his wife’s terrifying fall in 2017 and a series of miscarriages — in a sweet Instagram post on Wednesday, sharing a photo of Jacob wrapped in his dad’s arms.

“Jacob Bryan Fisher! You are a gift from our Lord!” the former pro hockey player, 38, captioned his post. “The last few years has had its challenges and it makes this moment even more sweet!”
