TikTok's latest trend is a super easy baked feta pasta dish with six ingredients

Cooking a tasty meal doesn’t have to take a lot of time, effort or ingredients.

Take this viral TikTok recipe, for example.

All you need is feta cheese, tomatoes, garlic, dried oregano, pasta and fresh basil, as well as store cupboard essentials like olive oil, salt and pepper.

But the best thing about it is that it takes just a few minutes to put together.

All you need to do is fill a roasting tray with a layer of cherry tomatoes, a drizzle of olive oil and salt and pepper.

Then put a block of feta cheese in the middle, season and bake in an oven at 200C/gas mark 5 for 35 minutes.

This roasts the tomatoes and melts the cheese.

Once cooked, add some finely chopped garlic, fresh basil and then mix everything together to create a sauce.

Add some cooked pasta and coat it all in the mix before serving.

According to some of the many TikTokers making the dish, it first went viral in Finland and was so popular, there was a shortage of feta cheese.

Some have created their own variations of the dish, showing it can be really versatile.

Ayeh, who posts as @cookingwithayeh, made a mushroom version, replacing the cherry tomatoes with the vegetable and some red onion, but keeping the garlic.

She then uses fresh thyme to season and adds the feta, topped with oregano and olive oil.

Once the cheese is cooked, she mashes the garlic, then mixes it together and adds pasta and some spinach.

Her final tip is to add a little of the starchy pasta water to bring it all together.

Another TikToker who posts as @Feelgoodfoodie also made a version with red peppers, red onion and olive instead of cherry tomatoes.

After adding them all to the tray with the feta, olive oil and seasoning, she bakes.

Once cooked, she uses fresh parsley instead of basil and adds the pasta with a little of the water.
