Fitness coach shares how to make low calorie gummy bears

In need of a new lockdown snack?

A fitness coach has revealed how to make low calorie gummy bears at home.

Jordan, from Sydney, demonstrated her method in a short TikTok video, which has since received more than 211,000 views.

Her easy recipe requires just four ingredients – jelly, gelatine powder, citric acid and water.

The sour gummies are a great lighter option, with just 120g of the bears containing around 27 calories.

To make the sweet snack, the 21-year-old uses gummy bear silicone moulds, but ice trays are a great alternative.

In the video, she starts by combining the jelly crystals with the gelatine powder in a bowl.

In the comments section, she says: ‘I used 9g [of gelatine] because the jelly packet was 9g. Just use the equal amounts.’

She then pours 150ml of boiling water into the bowl and combines the mixture thoroughly with a spoon.

After, using a plastic dropper, she carefully places the mixture into the trays and pops in the freezer for 20 minutes.

Once the jelly had formed, Jordan removes each gummy bear from the mould and sprinkles citric acid over the top – as this creates the sour flavour.

It goes without saying that the recipe has gone down a treat with those looking with sweet cravings.

One person replied to the video: ‘I made these today and omg yum. You can’t taste the difference.’

Another person recommended: ‘Add tasteless protein powder for a protein kick too.’
