With pubs shut, many of us have missed a freshly poured pint at our locals.
However, one small silver lining in all this is Aldi, who have rescued a load of pub stock and will be selling it at prices starting from 99p.
The budget supermarket worked with 13 chosen British breweries to ensure no beer was wasted during the restrictions, acquiring big brand names to put on their shelves.
Going on sale today, you can expect Spitfire Gold at 99p for 500ml (saving up to 75p on the same product at other supermarkets).
10 more beers will be priced at £1.49, including Snake Oil from West Berkshire Brewery and Old Hooky from Hook Norton Brewery.
The final two – Tangle Foot and Warsteiner – will cost £3.99 for a four-pack or £8.99 for a twelve-pack respectively.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: ‘Lots of our favourite local breweries have been hugely affected by the pandemic.
‘As part of our commitment to supporting British suppliers, we’ve found a way to stock great quality and award-winning beers.’
You’ll have to go into stores to get your hands on the bargains, as they’re not being sold online. As ever, go in for your essentials only – if you happen to pick up some discount beer, it’s a win.
