Inside Normal People character Marianne's wardrobe – where are her dresses from?

CONNELL and his famous chain might have captured hearts across the nation, but we don’t know about you but our true crush is on Marianne’s wardrobe.

Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones has been rocking some serious lewks in the smash-hit BBC drama.

From her effortlessly cool dungarees to her seriously chic LBD there isn’t one of Marianne’s outfits that isn’t on our style wish list.

But while you might struggle to get hold of some of her one-off vintage dresses, we have done some digging and found some exact Marianne matches.

And you won’t need a pot of gold to get your hands on these pieces with many of her best looks sourced from the high street.

Here we reveal where to get the very best of Marianne’s mufti.

The first few episodes of Sally Rooney's series see Marianne living in a uniform on denim dungarees – when she isn't in her actual uniform of course.

As her relationship with Connell blossoms, Marianne falls into a habit of wearing cosy knits, which are totes appropriate for the Irish countryside.

And one particularly memorable orange sweater is an iconic Ralph Lauren cable knit which you can snap up for yourself.

You may need to save your pennies though as it comes in at £100, but thankfully you can pick up a tangerine pull-over for £19.50 in M&S.

In episode 5 of the series Marianne showcased a very sophisticated look as she headed to a party with Connell.

She opted for velvet on velvet in the form of an ASOS kimono dress costing £49 and a H&M steampunk style jacket.

And while neither are available to buy there are still plenty of options on the high street.

During the show, Connell joins Marianne and friends on an Italian holiday in Trieste, where they stay at II Casale on Tenuta Verzano, close to the village of Sant’Oreste.

Lorna Marie Mugan, the show’s costume designer, has described her look as both "quirky and vulnerable" which is particular evident in a scene where she wears a gingham shift dress.

Not worlds away from her school uniform, the dress brings Marianne's style to a sophisticated crescendo – and while her dress is vintage you can pick up a similar one from Fat Face.

Another lust-worthy look came in the form of an LBD.

Again wardrobe relied on vintage finds for this effortlessly chic look, but you can rely on Missguided to give you something similar for just over £20.
