I’m a sleep expert – the reason why you wake up tired even if you’ve slept more than eight hours and how to fix it

SLEEP is a non-negotiable when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle, and there's a way to prevent that lingering sleepy feeling you get despite getting "enough of it."

Addison Jarman, a life hacker, has revealed exactly why you go through the day groggy despite getting the recommended amount of sleep.

In a video shared with her TikTok followers, Jarman explained that you should be sleeping in 90-minute cycles.

"You may not be going to bed at the right time for when you have to wake up," Jarman disclosed.

And, as humans sleep in 90-minute cycles, you will wake up feeling significantly less tired if you wake up at the end of one of the 90-minute cycles.

To do this, you simply have to figure out what time you need to wake up, then count backward in 90-minute blocks to see what time you need to go to sleep at night.
