I lost 40 lbs by accident while exercizing less – I quit cardio and diets, I was shocked it actually worked | The Sun

A FITNESS queen said she lost 40 pounds and transformed her figure nearly by accident.

She recounted the habits she unintentionally changed that had major results.

TikToker and gym girl Alex (@alexx.fitt) has become dedicated to a healthy lifestyle that includes wholesome meals and performing more well-rounded workouts.

After transforming her body, she began using her platform to each other women how they can achieve their goals too.

“Here are three things that I stopped doing that helped me lose 40 pounds and go from this to this,” she said in the video, while comparing two photos of her before and after.

“[It happened] by accident in a way, because I had no idea that these things would help me lose weight, but they did.

“Some of them are obvious and some are not.”

The first change she made was to stop doing so much cardio.

“Man, I would go on the StairMaster and do like an hour of cardio and then do an hour of weights.

“My body was exhausted after that, which caused me to hold onto more fat and not lose as much weight.”

When one commenter asked what she did instead, Alex revealed she still does do cardio – but a lot less.

The second bad habit she ditched was to stop dieting and counting calories.

While she used to prioritize low calorie, boring meals like chicken, veggies, and rice, she now “adds more love into [her] meals.”

Her third tip, she said, was crucial.

“I stopped the negative self-talk. I stopped talking down to myself, stopped talk s*** to myself.

“Positive mindset baby.”

Viewers supported her takes.

“Not counting calories is the best thing! Eating whole foods and upping protein is key,” one person wrote.

“I started eating more and lost some weight,” another echoed.
