EXCLUSIVE: An Official Look at Casablanca's Stripped Back New Balance 327 Release

After giving a first look at the collaboration back in June, Casablanca and New Balance have now officially unveiled their second joint release. Once again working with the 327 silhouette, Casablanca has gone for a more stripped back aesthetic than the previous release.

The two sneakers are both dressed in clean white uppers, with one pair featuring a white “N” logo while the other sports a black logo on its sidewall. The colorways recall the bright orange and green hues of the earlier capsule through subtle detailing. The white pair features a green trim around the “N” logo, while the black pair is adorned with a subtle orange tongue.

Finishing off the design is a co-branded tongue tag, complete with “Casablanca Tennis Club” graphics, and a bold New Balance logo on the footbed.1 of 5

Speaking to HYPEBEAST about the launch, Casablanca creative director Charaf Tajer explained the new capsule’s stripped-back aesthetic. “As a designer, you explore various styles and colours. I think you need different shoes for different moods and moments. I let my creative vision and instincts of what I feel will look the best lead me, and try not to question it too much! I think it’s very cool to have classic colours in a collaboration so they don’t only become a “moment” they are shoes that have a timeless feel.”

Tajer also went on to discuss how the collection serves as “a natural extension of apres-sport, the neoclassical luxe elegance. The New Balance partnership is inspired by being able to provide every person with the perfect shoe option to match their style.”

”The concept of the Fall/Winter 2020 collection is “Idealisme,” expressed through serene visualizations of Lake Garda. The beauty of uninterrupted nature surrounding a classic Italian palazzo. We feature our favourite mountain companion, the Dalmatian which resembles the colorway of the Black and White colourway. The off-white white statues spread throughout the plush green gardens of the Masion, is exhibited in the green and off-white colourway. The sneakers are the perfect match to the new collection.”

The collection will see a first release on September 12 via the Casablanca web store, followed by a wider release through New Balance and select stockists due to follow later in the year.
