adidas Originals Switches to Fully Sustainable with Stan Smith

Certified as the “best-selling sneaker in the world” by the Guinness World Records,

adidas has the goal of going green for its top-selling sneaker and other products by replacing all virgin polyester with recycled polyester by 2024. 2021 also marks the 50th anniversary for the iconic tennis silhouette, the Stan Smith, and with its golden jubilee just around the corner, adidas has announced that it will be the first to adopt this sustainable specification. The 2021 Stan Smith will see recycled polyester with a premium PU coating from Japan that feels just like leather, along with recycled rubber for the outsole and recycled materials for shoelaces. Fans will not be able to tell the old and new versions apart except the 2021 version will have a positive impact on the environment.

The new and green Stan Smith will be available very soon at online retailers and adidas stockists.
