Where Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Will Honeymoon

With Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s royal wedding just around the corner, it’s natural to wonder where the royal couple might go on their honeymoon.

While Princess Eugenie’s honeymoon destination is currently being kept under wraps, it’s possible she’ll take inspiration from her cousin Prince Harry.

It was initially reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be visiting Namibia on their honeymoon following their own royal wedding on May 19. However, subsequent reports suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex actually stayed at Ashford Castle in Ireland after their wedding.

Whether Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will follow in Harry and Meghan’s footsteps and honeymoon in Europe—or travel somewhere else entirely—remains to be seen. Here, we run down the most likely destinations for Eugenie and Brooksbank’s royal honeymoon.

Nicaragua

As Bustle notes, Princess Eugenie and her fiancé discussed their engagement on BBC’s The One Show, revealing that the proposal took place by “a beautiful volcano” in Nicaragua.

They’d been together for seven years when Jack proposed, and in their engagement video, Eugenie described the perfect setting in Nicaragua: “The lake was so beautiful. The lake had a special light I’d never seen. I actually said ‘this is an incredible moment,’ and then he popped the question.” Perhaps they will return to one of the key locations of their romance for their honeymoon?

Verbier in Switzerland

Princess Eugenie met her future husband in 2010 while she was skiing in Switzerland. Per The Telegraph, they met on vacation, as Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew, was celebrating his 50th birthday at a resort in Verbier.

As Town & Country notes (via BBC) Eugenie’s parents purchased their own chalet in Verbier in 2015, so the location obviously holds a lot of significance for the family, making it another possible royal honeymoon destination.

Necker Island in the Caribbean

Back in April 2018, the Daily Mail reported that Richard Branson may have offered Eugenie and Jack a honeymoon option at his resort on Necker Island in the Caribbean. The vacation retreat closed following damage caused during Hurricane Irma last year and is due to reopen in late October 2018. Eugenie and Jack would have the entire island to themselves before it opens to the public.

Members of the royal family have already stayed on Necker Island, with Princess Diana taking Prince William and Prince Harry there in April 1990.

The Amalfi Coast in Italy

In July 2018, Eugenie and Jack were photographed vacationing on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Could the couple have been scouting out the idyllic location ahead of their honeymoon, or will they opt for somewhere more remote? For now, the speculation continues.
