‘We made it our own’: Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra marry in India

Singer Nick Jonas and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra have posted photos of their wedding celebration amid reports that the couple have tied the knot after a four-month courtship.

While the couple didn't say they were officially married – Indian weddings are typically days' long affairs – they both posted festive pictures of themselves on social media on Saturday and talked about the work they had put into planning the wedding.

"One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other's faiths and cultures," the couple wrote on Instagram.

"And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so, so amazing.

"Once again, we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed.

Representatives for the entertainers didn't immediately return emails seeking comment.

The couple announced their engagement in August. It is the first marriage for the 36-year-old Chopra and the 26-year-old Jonas.

The couple had been posting social-media photos of themselves among family and friends in India for more than a week.

The wedding was attended by close family and friends at one of India's most opulent royal palaces, People magazine reported.

The couple is expected to also have a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony and host a reception in New Delhi next week.

The bride, groom and other members of the wedding party wore outfits designed by Ralph Lauren, the design house said on its Twitter account and the wedding was officiated by the groom's father, Paul Kevin Jonas, People said.

Chopra, 36, who headlined three seasons of the crime drama Quantico, is one of Bollywood's biggest female leads with acting credits in several big-ticket films.

Nick Jonas, 26, and his brothers Kevin and Joe formed a band, The Jonas Brothers, in 2005 and soared to fame as members of Disney's stable of teenage stars. The band split up in 2013.

The venue of the wedding, the Umaid Bhavan Palace in the Indian city of Jodhpur, was cordoned off to outsiders and no media were allowed near.

Local police had to intervene on Saturday after the couple's security had an altercation with photographers who were trying to take pictures of the venue, a witness said.

The palace is the home of the Jodhpur royal family, but part of it has been converted into a hotel with peacocks roaming 26 acres of landscaped gardens.
