Victoria Beckham was nowhere to be seen during Mel B, Geri Horner, Mel C and Emma Bunton’s final Spice Girls shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. There had been high expectations from fans and the band members that the designer, who opted out of the tour, might attend one gig as a show of support. Melanie Brown spoke out about the 45-year-old Posh Spice star during an interview on ITV’s Good Morning Britain today. “I expected her to come and just say ‘Hi’ at least…” Scary Spice, 44, started. “Not even on stage, just as an audience member supporting.”
It doesn’t matter what it is
When asked why Victoria had not attended, Mel replied: “Do I look like I know? I don’t know.
“I’m sure she has her reasons for not. I’ve already said I was upset – I still am a little bit.
“But it is what it is, and us girls we all support each other no matter what.”
GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan said the mother-of-four had attended the wedding of Real Madrid footballer Sergio Ramos over the weekend in Spain, to which Mel stated: “It doesn’t matter what it is.”
The mum-of-three went on to say there was no rift between them but that didn’t mean there wasn’t “disappointment” there.
She said: “We’re all adults, we have to respectfully get on with whatever, but it is a bit disappointing, let’s put it that way.”
Victoria had shared a post on Instagram with her 25.6 million followers on May 24, ahead of the Spice Girls’ first show.
She captioned a shot of them in their hey day: “Good luck to the girls today as they start their tour! x VB #SpiceGirls #FriendshipNeverEnds @EmmaLeeBunton @TheRealGeriHalliwell @OfficialMelB @MelanieCMusic.”
“Thanks honey! We’ll miss you #friendshipneverends,” Mel C, 45, had replied.
And, over the weekend, the brunette beauty once again updated her fans on their famous brood’s trip to Seville ahead of the nuptials.
“We LOVE Seville!! X hanging out with our babies xx kisses @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #harperseven,” she said.
Victoria and her spouse David Beckham, 44, had been pictured arriving at Seville cathedral on Saturday in an off-white patterned dress.
Keeping her sunglasses firmly on, she wore her tresses up and accessorised with pink stilettos while her husband opted for a navy morning suit.
Meanwhile, Mel also said she is keen for the Spice Girls to work on new music, as well as taking their reunion tour across the world.
On the possibility of new music, she said: “That’s a discussion that we haven’t had properly, the four of us, but I think we should.
“I would love more Spice Girls music, but the thing is I wonder if we’ve still got it if we get in the studio, we might not have it. It was 20 years ago we wrote those songs.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
