Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker might be 2021's most unexpected new couple, but according to Barker, the two work because they've both got kids. He said as much when he made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, saying that when he was dating women who didn't have kids, they just didn't get it. Kourtney, he insists, knows that he can't go out every night or see her every minute of every day because she's a parent, too, and knows that their priorities are just different.
"I would date girls that didn't have kids and I find it kind of hard, because I think they have trouble understanding, well, 'Why don't you want to go to dinner every night with me?' or 'Why don't you want to see me every night?'" Barker said. "And now, I'm spending time with a woman who's, like, a great mom, who's, like, a great friend and you don't have to worry about any of those things, it just comes natural."
Barker went on to explain that he prefers to be in a relationship, rather than being single. But, he added, missing someone is important to him, because it means that the time they spend together is that much more special.
"I also really like missing someone and cherishing the time that I spend with them, instead of, you know, every day being with them, especially in the beginning of the relationship. I think missing someone is so important," he continued.
Kardashian and Barker made headlines recently when he posted a note to Twitter that read, "may we destroy each other completely." After fans inquired about the cryptic message, he clarified on Instagram, showing that the words were pulled from a note that Kardashian wrote for him: "To lots of fun adventures, may we destroy each other completely. Love, Kourtney."
