Tom Hanks transforms into Mister Rogers for upcoming biopic

Tom Hanks has transformed into Mister Rogers for an upcoming biopic about the iconic television personality.

Sony Pictures released the first photo of Hanks as the late Fred Rogers on Thursday, and the resemblance between the two is uncanny.

The movie, which was titled “You Are My Friend” but now has no name, is based on the real-life friendship of journalist Tom Junod and Rogers. After the jaded magazine writer, played by Matthew Rhys, is assigned a profile of the “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” host, “he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor.”

Chris Cooper and “This Is Us” star Susan Kelechi Watson also appear in the film.
