This Is Reportedly Why Demi Lovato Left Her Rehab Facility

Demi Lovato has temporarily checked out of her in-patient facility after her overdose, People reports, but it’s for a good reason. Her doctors organized a trip to Chicago so the singer could receive additional treatment for her mental health and substance abuse.

She left her rehab facility last night and flew with her mother Dianna De La Garza to meet with a specific psychiatrist who specializes in mental health and addiction. She’ll stay there for a few days and then fly back and reenter the rehab facility.

“She’s in the midst of recovery,” a source close to Demi told People. “It’s going to be a long road, and Demi knows that. Emotionally, it hasn’t been easy, but she’s doing okay.”

Demi left the hospital last weekend to check herself into rehab. When she did, she posted a personal message to fans on Instagram, thanking them for their love and support.

“I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”
