The Speeches at Princess Eugenie's Wedding Reception Made Everyone Cry

The second royal wedding of 2018 was just as spectacular as the first, and that included its own array of emotional speeches.

Following the gorgeous ceremony at St. George’s Chapel, Princess Eugenie’s first wedding reception was hosted by Queen Elizabeth II in Windsor Castle. And now Hello! has exclusively revealed that Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew, gave an unforgettable speech as father of the bride.

Hello!‘s anonymous source, who was allegedly a guest at the royal wedding reception, revealed that “Prince Andrew gave a great father-of-the-bride speech, there was some great anecdotes from childhood and all the way through to current affairs.” The publication described the perfect speech as both “light-hearted and moving,” revealing that guests were in fits of laughter, and tears, by the end of it.

Apparently a big part of the reason that guests started to cry was because Prince Andrew showed a lot of love for his daughter’s new husband, Jack Brooksbank. Per Hello!‘s source, “The one thing that made me cry was the Duke, when he said he was going to do something he’s never done before; he went over to his new son-in-law and hugged him. He isn’t a very tactile person.”

Clearly, Princess Eugenie’s parents are embracing Brooksbank into the royal family, and it sounds as though Prince Andrew demonstrated genuine warmth towards his new son-in-law.

Meanwhile, another anonymous guest at the reception described Brooksbank as making a “really lovely speech” before being told to get down from standing on his chair, which is pretty legendary.
