That Rumored All-Winners Season of 'Survivor' Might Actually Be Happening

Survivor has been on TV screens for a whopping 38 seasons, and the CBS series is showing no signs of slowing down. The 39th and 40th seasons of the show will be filming in the upcoming months, and Survivor tends to do something big for its milestone seasons. The 10th season of the show featured a schoolyard pick for tribes, and the 20th season brought back returning players as Heroes vs. Villains. And for the 40th season, fans might just get a season that they’ve been asking for.

According to the website Inside Survivor, CBS is planning on having all-winners season for Survivor season 40. Yes, that’s right—winners like Natalie Anderson, Jeremy Collins, Boston Rob, and Sandra Diaz-Twine (the only two-time winner) could be back on Survivor.

However, there are a couple of reasons why this all-winners season may never come to fruition.

Host Jeff Probst just doesn’t seem that into the idea. Last summer, he told Us Weekly that, “We can’t do all winners. As a producer, I would never suggest it. I would say it’s not a good idea. We have 10 great winners that you’d want to see play again. We don’t have 20. We don’t have 18. Some of the winners don’t want to play again. Some of the greats are like, ‘No, we’re done.’”

Some of the 37—soon to be 38—past winners may not want to come back, as the 39 days that castaways spend on the island is grueling on their bodies and minds, and they often come home with scrapes, bruises, and parasites (for real). Additionally, some of the past winners might not want to soil their former win. John Cochran played such a brilliant game on his season, but what if he comes back and is the first voted out?

However, the reality tv website Reality Blurred pointed out that Probst has also said that he hates twists that bring people that were previously eliminated back into the game, but this current season of Survivor is solely based on that twist.

So while the all-winners season is just a dream for now, it just might become a reality.
