First look at P&O Cruises ship Aurora’s multi-million pound makeover

P&O Cruises ' cruise ship Aurora has made quite the comeback into the company's fleet following a multi-million pound refurbishment.

Aurora has undergone a major makeover with heaps of new cabins, modernised communal areas, and plenty of updates and modern designs for the sleek new finish.

The biggest changes come in the form of the cabins.

Not only will there be 23 new cabins on deck 8, but the ship's suites have been given a refresh with new furniture, carpets, furnishings and even bathroom fittings. (That includes the ship's luxurious two-level penthouse suites).

Oh, and for those who need their beauty sleep, have no fear – over the next six months the ship will be rolling out new mattresses for all the cabins.

Other new features include a refurbishment of the Oasis Spa and is treatment rooms, thermal suite and steam room, while lounge The Glass House has been updated with more modern decor.

In fact, plenty of the ship's public venues including Anderson’s, Carmen’s, Charlie’s, Masquerade and Raffles have been upgraded with new carpets, soft furnishings and furniture.

Meanwhile, for those who prefer to spend their cruise holidays poolside, Aurora now boasts new poolside furniture on its deck areas including new poolside furniture and mosaic tiling at the Riviera and Crystal pools and bar areas.

Aurora will also serve as the company's newest adults-only ship, and will make its return on a 16-night Portugal, Canary Islands and Azores cruise from Southampton.

P&O Cruises president Paul Ludlow said: "We are so pleased to welcome back Aurora from refit ready for her new chapter.

"We continually invest in all of our ships, always striving to offer our guests the best service and experience. We are sure that Aurora’s contemporary refresh will delight all who sail on her."
