Sigourney Weaver looks nothing short of sensational in a chic red jumpsuit on the carpet for the Master Gardener premiere during Venice Film Festival

Sigourney Weaver certainly stood out from the crowd as she donned a chic red jumpsuit for the Master Gardener premiere during the Venice Film Festival on Saturday.

The actress, 72, who stars as Mrs. Haverhill in the film, commended attention in the bold ensemble as she graced the red carpet alongside her co-stars.

Sigourney’s jumpsuit featured a keyhole cut-out with gold chain detailing, with the loose-fitting fabric falling nicely over her figure.

The Alien star accessorised her look with cream and gold studded heels, while storing her essentials in a black handbag with gold chain detailing.

Sigourney styled her cropped auburn tresses in soft waves while she accentuated her featured with a rosy palette of make-up.

The star, who added gold stud earrings, appeared in great spirits as she smiled for snaps and posed with co-stars including Quintessa Swindell and Joel Edgerton.

Master Gardener follows the story of a meticulous horticulturist Narvel Roth (Edgerton) who tends to the stunning and historic grounds of a wealthy dowager Mrs Haverhill (Weaver).

But after Mrs Haverhill insists Narvel employ her great-niece Maya (Swindell), his apprentice sends his life spiralling into chaos as dark secrets from his past come to light and threaten upend the lives of all those who live and work in Gracewood Gardens.

Attracting the biggest stars, the film festival is held annually on the island of the Lido in the Venice Lagoon. With movie screenings taking place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi.

This year’s line up will see divisive biopic Blonde, starring Ana De Armas as tragic screen icon Marilyn Monroe, battle it out for the competition’s top accolade.

Brendan Fraser’s moving drama The Whale, where he plays an obese professor, will also compete alongside films starring Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman and Colin Farrell.

Meanwhile, Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, starring her boyfriend Harry Styles, will also debut at the premiere – though will not be part of the competition.

While for the first time in the festival’s history, a Netflix film – Noah Baumbach’s White Noise – will open the proceedings. 

Greta Gerwig, Adam Driver, and Don Cheadle star in the comedy horror and the film will also be part of the competition category. 

Luca Guadagnino’s coming of age horror romance Bones and All, starring Timothee Chalamet, will also battle it out in the competition segment, alongside the likes of Joanna Hogg’s The Eternal Daughter featuring Tilda Swinton.
