Selena Gomez Shouts "I'm Single" While Attending Soccer Game With Her Friends

Selena Gomez is looking for love, and her methods include scoping out amateur soccer matches. On June 8, the “Only Murders in the Building” actor posted a hilarious TikTok featuring her proclaiming her singledom as she sat with some friends on a soccer pitch.

In the video, a bundled up Gomez shouts, “I’m single. I’m just a little high-maintenance. But I’ll love you soooo much.” She captioned her TikTok, “The struggle man lol.” For their part, the players appeared to be unphased by a certified pop star attempting to distract them from their match.

This is far from the first time Gomez has been candid about her relationship status. In January, she was rumored to be dating The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart after they were spotted at a bowling alley together. She cleared up the rumors in March, when she posted a TikTok of herself lip-syncing, “I hate it when girls are like, ‘Oh my gosh, my crush doesn’t even know that I exist.’ Girl, my crush doesn’t even exist!” She added in the caption, “Still out here lookin for him lol.”

Just a few days later, rumors began swirling that she and “Pillowtalk” singer Zayn Malik were an item. However, the “Calm Down” singer’s latest TikTok suggests there wasn’t any truth to those rumors either.

In 2020, Gomez opened up about the “dating bubble” that exists in Hollywood during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1, and how it has made it harder for her to find her person. “You’re wanting someone to understand what you’re going through, you’re almost wanting a counterpart of creativity as well, and it’s interesting and fun,” she said. “But the problem with that is you end up, whether you admit it or not, you’re having a relationship for people and not even for yourself.”

She continued, “There’s almost this point where it’s like, ‘Oh, we’re making it known that we’re together.’ Or whatever it is. You just need to decide within our world if it’s for you or is it for show.”
