Ryan Thomas posed shirtless showcasing his incredibly toned body after ’12 weeks of intense training’ ahead of ITV’s The Games on Monday. 

The former Coronation Street actor, 37, looked sensational as he revealed his ripped abs in just a pair of blue shorts while posing in the gym with his hands on his hips.

Ryan has undergone intensive training ready to go head-to-head with 12 other celebrities in a range of sporting challenges for the ITV competition.

He penned: ‘The wait is finally over & what a journey it’s been 12 weeks of intense training learning 9 different athletic sports with some of the best coaches in the country.

‘With a massive thank you to my PT @michaelevansfitness preparing me mentally & physically for this challenge we worked so hard being dedicated to the routine, diet & determination.

‘Tune in live tonight 9pm every night this week on @itv 1 @thegamestv.’

Ryan was praised by his family and friends including younger brother and former Love Island star Scott Thomas, who wrote: ‘Shape on the lad!!! Let’s gooooo big bro.’

His fiancé and former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh, who is currently pregnant with the couples third child, gushed over the actor. 

She wrote: ‘While I’ve been getting fatter, he’s been getting fitter! Haha. Very proud fiancé watching him work so bloody hard training in nine sports for @thegamestv and also adding extra training on top of that & sticking to a stricter diet than normal.

She ended the long message: ‘The first LIVE show is tonight at 9pm on ITV1 can’t wait to watch with my tub of ice-cream.’ 

Emmerdale actor and Strictly Come Dancing champion Kelvin Fletcher also penned on Adam’s snap: ‘Absolute rig.’

Also taking part in the series is former Love Islander’s Chloe Burrows, Olivia Attwood and Wes Nelson, former Strictly star Kevin Clifton, Christine McGuinness, The Wanted’s Max George, newsreader Lucrezia Millarini, musician and TV star Wes Nelson and Emmerdale actor Rebecca Sarker. 

Rounding out the cast is model Phoenix Brown, song writer Chelcee Grimes and Harry Potter actor Josh Herdman.

Not long now: Adam and five other male and six female competitors will battle it out in the athletics arena, the swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome

All have been pulled out of their comfort zones to be coached as athletes, swimmers and cyclists, to compete in the hope of coming top of the medals table and being crowned the winners.

Hosted live by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, The Games will also see former professional footballer and presenter Alex Scott as trackside reporter and former professional football player and presenter Chris Kamara as commentator. 

The six male and six female competitors will battle it out in the athletics arena, the swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome.

Each will put their sporting prowess to the test in events from the 100-meter sprint to diving, racking up points on the medals table.

As well as live coverage of the events, each episode will feature the celebrities’ preparation as they’re taught the sports from scratch by some of the UK’s top coaches.  

They will aim to reach their peak physical condition through their gruelling training programme leading up to the competition. 

As the leader board takes shape with each night, the series will culminate in an exhilarating final showdown in which one male champion and one female champion will be crowned. 

The Games starts Monday 9th May at 9pm on ITV.

Star: Holly will be co-hosting the series with Freddie Flintoff which comes shortly after she fronted fellow action series Freeze The Fear with Wim Hof
