Richard Gere, 70, and wife Alejandra, 36, are ‘expecting their second baby nine months after birth of their son’
Hollywood actor Richard Gere’s Spanish wife is reportedly pregnant with their second child.
Spanish magazine Hola!, which broke the news of the birth of the couple’s first child in February and published exclusive photos of their May 2018 wedding near New York, says the baby is due ‘next spring.’
Pretty Woman star Gere, who turned 70 at the end of August, has a son aged 19, Homer James Jigme Gere, with former wife Carey Lowell.

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Alejandra for comment.
Alejandra, 36, who was born in Spain’s north-west region of Galicia, is mum to a six-year-old son called Albert with her ex-husband Govind Freidland.
Alejandra confirmed her first pregnancy in September last year after marrying screen icon-turned humanitarian activist Gere with a photo showing the Dalai Lama touching her belly in a blessing, a month after it was revealed she was expecting.

The news she was pregnant emerged just six months after she tied the knot with her actor partner at a civil ceremony in Spain before celebrating the occasion with friends and family at Richard’s home near New York.
Gere told Hola! in an exclusive interview after the wedding: ‘I’m the happiest man in the universe and how couldn’t I be!
‘I’m married to a beautiful, sensitive, funny woman who’s committed to helping people and is a great mother.’

The couple met in 2014 at a luxury Italian boutique hotel Alejandra bought with her former husband and was managing at the time.
Alejandra, the daughter of a former Real Madrid vice-president who was educated at Leweston School in Dorset, has admitted in the past to being ‘a little lost’ when she met Richard and has described him as ‘my hero in real life.’
There has been no public comment from the couple to the reports Alejandra is pregnant again, first published by Hola! yesterday/on Monday which said the couple ‘had not confirmed or denied the information’ and echoed since by several Spanish newspapers including respected daily El Pais.

Gere said in a UK newspaper interview ahead of the birth of the couple’s first child, a boy called Alexander, that he was ‘not at all’ worried about becoming an older parent and wanted to be a ‘hands-on dad.’
In October last year he met caretaker Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez in his official Madrid residence La Moncloa to talk about the homeless problem.
In August the pair had a second conversation, this time by phone, after the actor went on board migrant refugee boat Open Arms.
