Richard Madeley has lashed out Prince Harry after he spoke out against the Royal Family in a series of interviews over the last few months.

The Duke of Sussex has been vocal about his experiences within The Firm and even accused them of "total neglect" after he and wife Meghan Markle, 39, asked for help.

During his Apple TV series, The Me You Can't See, with chat show host Oprah Winfrey, the 36 year old said: "Every single ask, request, warning, whatever it is, to stop just got met with total silence or total neglect.

"We spent four years trying to make it work. We did everything that we possibly could to stay there and carry on doing the role and doing the job."

Now, 65 year old Richard has his out at his actions as he said: "I think Harry's lost the plot I’m sad to say because I think, fundamentally, Harry is a decent man.

“I think he's a decent guy, who, like many people, has had bad, difficult experiences in his life. I mean, very few of us lead a charmed existence, so I don’t think that makes him particularly special."

Referring to the tragic death of Harry's mum Princess Diana in 1997, Richard continued: “People do lose their parents, you know, I lost my father when I was 21."

Richard, who recently said his wife Judy Finnigan "hated fame" and was a "reluctant" TV host, went on to tell Express.co.uk: "It's not the same as losing your mother at [a young age]. But we all have our crosses to bear."

The presenter then urged Prince Harry to "think harder" before speaking ill of his family.

This isn't the first time Richard has slammed the Duke over his recent actions, as he argued that he would hate to have his family’s business made such a topic of discussion.

"I don't really want to see any family washing their dirty linen in public!” Richard told his Good Morning Britain co-stars during Monday's show.

"I agree with you it is important to talk and we all know that Harry has had acres of therapy and he has had these conversations in private.

"But I don't think it is remotely appropriate for him to actually talk in the detail that he has in public about his grandparents and about his father."
