Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem on the set of Being The Ricardos

Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem are dead ringers for Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz on the set of Aaron Sorkin’s upcoming film Being The Ricardos

They’re starring as two of the most famous comic stars of the 20th century.

And Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem looked nearly unrecognizable thanks to their makeup and picture-perfect costumes on the set of Being The Ricardos in Long Beach, California, on Tuesday.

Kidman, 53, and Bardem, 52, were spotted chatting on set by the Queen Mary ocean liner during some downtime between takes.

Transformed: Nicole Kidman, 53, and Javier Bardem, 52, were the spitting images of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz while on the set of Being The Ricardos in Long Beach on Tuesday

Kidman paired her costume with a black puffer jacket to stay warm on the breezy day.

She looked lovely in a flowing fuchsia dress that reached down to her ankles, which was paired with simple black flats.

The Oscar winner had her hair dyed red and styled in tight curls to mimic Ball’s classic locks.

She rounded out the colorful costume with pink flowers on a necklaces wrapped around her throat.

Glowing: She was also seen on set in a lustrous gold dress which she also wore with her black jacket

Lookalike: Kidman’s face appeared closer to Ball’s iconic visage, though it wasn’t clear if that was solely because of her identical makeup, or if she was wearing any subtle prostheses

Bardem was outfitted with a white tuxedo jacket to match Arnaz’s look in I Love Lucy when he would lead his band at the Tropicana Club.

He looked dapper with his black bow tie, cummerbund and contrasting black trousers, and his slick dark hair was coiffed in the same manner as Arnaz’s on the series and in his film appearances with his wife.

Iconic couple: Being The Ricardos focuses on the then-married couple of Ball and Arnaz as they play Lucy and Ricky Ricardo on their hit series I Love Lucy

Pivotal moment: The film follows the on-screen couple over a single week in the 1950s as they film their series when a crisis emerges that could harm their marriage and the show; Ball and Arnaz in a publicity still for The Long Long Trailer in 1954

The film follows the on-screen couple over a single week in the 1950s as they film their series when a crisis emerges that could harm their marriage and the show.

The couple, who married in 1940, had plenty of real-life marital problems.

Ball filed for divorce for the first time in 1944, reportedly over Arnaz’s infidelities and drinking, but they resuscitated the relationship until divorcing in 1960.

The acting couple welcomed two children during their show’s run from 1951 to 1957.

Classics: The couple were married from 1940 to 1960 and starred on I Love Lucy from 1951 to 1957; publicity still for I Love Lucy

Honored: Kidman and Barden are both stars at the top of their game and both have Oscars – Kidman for The Hours and Bardem for No Country For Old Men

Sorkin is coming off his Oscar-nominated historical drama The Trial Of The Chicago 7, which was nominated for six Academy Awards.

Sorkin and his collaborators went home empty-handed at the Oscars on Sunday, but the film has received positive (if tepid) reviews.

The writer and newly minted director already has one Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for David Fincher’s film The Social Network (2010).

Next project: The film is written and directed by The Trial Of The Chicago 7 filmmaker Aaron Sorkin, who went home empty-handed at Sunday’s Oscars ceremony; seen on April 25 with Paulina Porizkova
