‘I don’t think anyone is going to steal her off me’: Nicola Adams’ girlfriend Ella Baig says they won’t be hit by ‘the Strictly curse’ as she reveals she’s met pro Katya Jones and isn’t ‘jealous’
Her love Nicola Adams was confirmed as being partnered with Katya Jones in the launch episode of Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday.
And now the boxer’s model girlfriend Ella Baig, 22, has revealed she’s confident their relationship will not become another victim of the infamous Strictly curse.
Speaking with The Sun On Sunday, Ella said: ‘I’m not worried about the curse. Nicki and me are best friends so I don’t really see anyone as competition and she doesn’t either.’

The model continued: ‘The grass is never greener on the other side and me and Nicki have a lot of history together, so I don’t think anyone is going to steal her off me.
‘We did have a conversation about the ‘curse,’ and we agreed I would meet her dance partner so there are no hard feelings or jealousy there.’
Ella added that she was relaxed about her partner being around ‘attractive’ female dancers, as she also works with other stunning women as a model.
And Nicola, 37, has also expressed her confidence in their relationship surviving the pressure of the show, saying she and Ella are ‘strong’.
Dancing partners: The model added she’s met Katya Jones and there’s no ‘jealousy’ ahead of Nicola and the Russian dancer competing in the show (pictured in the launch episode)
Also speaking with the publication, Nicola said her love was being very supportive ahead of her time on the show and added that dance partner Katya is ‘smoking hot’.
The Strictly ‘curse’ is seen when one or more members of a couple compete on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The couple is typically torn apart by time-related issues or one partner’s attraction to another person on the show, which in the past has led to divorces, breakups, called off engagements and more
Katya is no stranger to this idea, as she was caught kissing her dance partner Seann Walsh in 2018 when she was married to fellow pro Neil Jones, 38. The couple split 10 months after the scandal.
