Michelle Branch was ‘mom-shamed’ for breastfeeding her baby in public: ‘I am in shock this kind of judgment is coming from a fellow mom’

Michelle Branch took to Twitter on Wednesday to vent about a bit of ‘mom-shaming’ she experienced… from a fellow mother.

The 38-year-old singer welcomed daughter Willie Jacquet Carney with her music producer husband Patrick Carney in early February.

The Everywhere singer-songwriter revealed that she was nursing at a playground when she was scolded by another mother.

‘I just got shamed by another mother (who was holding her own young infant!) for nursing my 6 week old baby on a bench at a playground while my toddler was playing,’ Branch began, along with the mind-blown emoji.

‘She said I wasn’t “being modest” I am in shock that this kind of judgement was coming from a fellow mom!’ Branch added.

A fan responded with a similar story, saying a woman did this to her ‘bestie’ at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles 10 years ago, and she was, ‘still mad about it.’

Branch replied, ‘I was in shock, so I didn’t say anything back. I’m fuming!’

She added in another tweet, ‘…and to clarify, I had a nursing tank top on and was seated away from others.’

‘It’s not like I walked into the crowd and whipped my tits out. Being a mom is hard enough. Can we not judge one another for how we feed our babies?’ she concluded with the mind-blown emoji and the ‘face with look of triumph’ emoji.
