Men finding Susanna Reid attractive is incomprehensible to her sons

Susanna Reid says men finding her attractive is incomprehensible to her sons and reveals they don’t watch her on GMB – as she details plans to scale back jobs to focus on them

Susanna Reid says the idea of men finding her attractive is incomprehensible to her teenage sons – who she reveals do not watch her on Good Morning Britain.

The TV host, 51, claims her three children – Jack, 16, Finn, 17,  and Sam, 19, who she shares with ex-husband Dominic Cotton – don’t watch her on breakfast television but are somewhat impressed when they see her on social media.

She told The Sun: ‘[Men fancying me] that would go over their heads and certainly would not be a conversation that I would initiate with them!

Unbelievable? Susanna Reid, 51, says the idea of men finding her attractive is incomprehensible to her sons Jack, 16, Finn, 17, and Sam, 19 (Susanna pictured last month)

‘It would be really weird. I think they love it that I can dress up and look nice and be on telly. They don’t watch me.

‘Sometimes clips of the programme are on TikTok and there’s a little bit of a, ‘Wow, OK, Mum’s on TikTok,’ but it’s not a big deal.’

The broadcaster, who has appeared on GMB since 2014, is scaling back her career so she can be more present for her offspring as they go through their GCSEs and A Levels.

She plans to continue with her main job as an anchor on the ITV show but is not planning any extra work for now beyond that aside from a documentary which has already been filmed.

Susanna is insistent she knows she has an ‘enormous privilege’ in that she is off-air by 9am and can have a nap at home before getting up in time for her sons’ arrival back from school.

Susanna said he put a ‘powerful’ imprint on the show and was excellent at ‘holding the government to account’ during the pandemic.

She added that she’d learned a lot from him and was now ‘thicker skinned, more resilient, bolder, but with sensitivity’.

Susanna went on to praise her fellow female television presenters in the industry, saying they have an ‘incredible sisterhood’.

She was among 27 female TV stars featured in the stunning photo taken by Amy Brammall earlier this month in the run-up to International Women’s Day on March 8.

It featured ITV’s iconic women, all dressed in shades of pink and red joined together to celebrate girl power.

She said on a recent episode of Lorraine: ‘We had this incredible photograph of all these women and those are just the women on ITV daytime.

‘It’s remarkable isn’t it, what an incredible sisterhood.

‘We rely on everybody behind the scenes. It’s very nice to have a lovely pink or red dress on and appear in the photograph but the directors, the producers, the people behind the cameras, everybody out in the field are doing incredible work.’

Host Lorraine said there was ‘lots to celebrate’ on International Women’s Day, before adding that we had a ‘long way to go’ but had made ‘great strides.’

Susanna continued: ‘Huge strides and I think that photograph just shows how far we’ve come that we are kind of awash with talent.’

The TV star was recently reported to have become the highest paid woman on British TV, after inking a new £1.1 million per year deal with ITV to stay on Good Morning Britain.

Last month, The Sun reported that the journalist, now out-earns Holly Willoughby, who allegedly rakes in £730,000 a year for her This Morning role in comparison.

The publication stated that the star’s contract with ITV ended in November, but that she ‘dug her heels in’ until she finally signed a new deal this week.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said: ‘She knows she is a huge part of the show and is increasingly involved in the day-to-day decisions too, alongside her presenting role.

‘Plus there is already uncertainty over who will co-anchor long term after Piers Morgan left last year, so she was definitely in a strong position.

‘Bosses rate her highly and wanted to keep her, but she didn’t agree straight away. She’s certainly played a strong negotiating game and it has worked out for her.’

MailOnline contacted a representative for Susanna for comment.
