Married At First Sight UK’s Whitney Hughes and Matt Murray admitted to their co-stars that they have slept together during an awkward moment in Monday night’s episode.

The couple, 31 and 32, have controversially re-entered the show as a new couple during it’s final week, despite beginning the experience marrying different people.

And as fellow members of the experiment probed the new couple on their relationship, barber Matt revealed that he chose to be celibate before entering the show.

Whitney and Matt made a shock entrance into this week’s dinner party in the episode, dividing the group as they were surprised to see that the couple had been allowed to stay on the show.

Creating drama from the get-go, co-stars such as Thomas Hartley and Zoe Clifton accused the pair of ‘disrespecting’ the process and exeriment.

And as the group sat down for dinner, Whitney and Matt were given a letter, explaining: ‘Each couple can ask anything that they like about your relationship’.

Diving in, Chanita Stephenson questioned: ‘Are you, if you don’t mind me asking, part of the intimacy club? You see how you’re into each other, so i’m just wondering if you’ve crossed that threshold in any way?’

The question left the couple slightly hot under the collar as they exchanged uneasy glances towards one another.

‘You wanna know if we’ve done the do? I’ll let Matt take that,’ replied Whitney as she passed the question onto her new beau.

While the barber revealed that he had abstained from sex before coming on the show, but has now had a change of heart.

He replied: ‘I came into this as a celibate person by choice and I ain’t no longer celibate.’

The group were visibly surprised by Matt’s candid answer, with some giggling as Chanita concluded: ‘Oh, s**t, ok.’

Putting it bluntly: ‘I came into this as a celibate person by choice and I ain’t no longer celibate,’ explained Matt

Whitney and Matt failed to make things work with the spouses they had been paired with for the experiment, Duka Cavolli and Gemma Rose.

They opted to leave the experiment and split from Duka and Gemma after spending the night together during the show’s Couples Retreat week – despite all four being under the same roof.

But after calling it quits with their own spouses, last week’s episodes showed the pair begging to stay and finish the show with one another – as the experts reluctently agreed.

Whitney and Matt will now continue on the show alongside the other married couples, but as a dating couple.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 9pm on E4.
