Madonna celebrates the last night of Hanukkah by ringing in Christmas

‘Let’s embrace all the faiths and rituals!’ Madonna celebrates the final night of Hanukkah by dressing up as an elf and decorating a Christmas tree with her kids

Madonna celebrated the last night of Hanukkah by decorating a Christmas tree with her children while they sang along to some classic holiday tunes.

As she prepared to ring in the most wonderful time of the year, the 63-year-old pop star matched her son David Banda, 16, and daughter Mercy James, 15, in green and yellow elf costumes.

Justifying the cross-over in religious traditions, Madonna, who observes the Jewish discipline Kabbalah, told her fans to ’embrace all faiths and rituals’ as she marked the festive occasion with her family.

Madonna’s nine-year-old twin daughters Stella and Estere were in similar outfits that featured red vests with a candy canes design on the front.

Even their black and white French Bulldog Olga was dressed to coordinate with the family as they had a blast decking the halls.

While rocking their festive attire, the crew merrily hung ornaments, danced and soaked up quality time together in their expansive living room.

At one point, they all broke out singing Last Christmas with the fire roaring in the background and Madonna’s beau Louie Spicolli spraying fake snow on the tree.

‘I’m the awkward looking Elf,’ the Material Girl singer captioned a video on Instagram from their fun evening. ‘We had fun celebrating the last day of Hanukkah by decorating the X-mas tree.’

She continued: ‘Here is the thing. Jesus was a Jew and decorating the tree is a Pagan ritual and does anyone really know when Jesus was born????!! Life is a mystery.’

‘Let’s embrace all faiths and rituals as long as they make us happy and we are focused more on giving than receiving!’ she concluded.

Her 25-year-old daughter Lourdes, who she shares with Carlos Leon, and son Rocco, from her past marriage to Guy Ritchie, did not appear to be present.

Lourdes did spend Thanksgiving with the majority of her siblings and mom, while Rocco, who is studying fine art at Central Saint Martins, did not.

Madonna’s eldest son lives across the pond, where he spent most of his adolescence in the UK living with his dad.
