Lauren and Mark were the golden couple of TOWIE when the constructed reality series first launched in 2010, and even got engaged on the show.

After their ups and downs played out on screen for all to see, their engagement came to an acrimonious end in 2012.

Despite Mark not always treating her right, including famously making jibes about her weight, Lauren has insisted it’s all water under the bridge and she wishes him nothing but the best.

Lauren revealed the presenter, 32 – who has gone on to host Extra in the US and now works on Heart Radio, as well as having a high-profile marriage to actress Michelle Keegan, 32 – was always determined to be famous.

She told New! magazine: ‘Good luck to Mark – he’s very career-minded and he told me from the start he’d be a star, and he made it happen. We were the first reality couple [in the UK] really and it was tough for us. It was real.’

Childhood sweethearts Lauren and Mark became engaged on the show and were a couple for 11 years before their bitter break-up.

Lauren went on to date convicted criminal Joey Morrisson, who was serving a 16 year sentence for possession of a firearm, kidnap, blackmail and actual bodily harm.

The TV star was left heartbroken when her two-and-a-half year romance with Joey came to an end in July, despite waiting for her love while he was behind bars.

Lauren is soon set to hit our screens in the new series of Celebs Go Dating, following a two-year absence from reality television.
